Classes & Workshops

Master Jewelers Janice & Daniel Niebauer offer Jewelry (fabrication/casting) workshop classes through the Erie Art Museum. For the last 36 years they have taught the Spring and Fall Sessions with each lasting 7 weeks. Classes are on Weds. nights from 7 - 9 P.M. and offer a wide selections of individual projects for beginners to advanced students.

Area's of Emphasis: Designing, layout and creating the student’s personal "Project Action Plan" for completion of their individual project(s). An individual’s personal “Project Action Plan will also include personal growth and enrichment with the additional selection and use of the proper jewelry techniques and methods needed to accomplished the student’s chosen project(s).

Individual Project(s) Include:
Objects of adornment, Fashion accessories, Object of Art, Metallry
and Metal Sculpture, etc. , which includes learning to use the
tools, soldering, enameling, etching, finishing and centrifugal
casting, etc.
Note:
*Internships, Apprenticeships and Additional Studio Bench Time available through Ralph Miller Jewelers & Gallery, (Erie's oldest, largest and only manufacturing Jeweler), and at their casting studio which are both owned by the Niebauers. ( esp. available on Saturdays)

*The Niebauers both have their Master's Degrees in Jewelry and have also taught at the University level in addition to working everyday in the jewelry industry.
*Students taking their classes are eligible for PA Act 48 Credits upon completion
